Michelle holds a BSc Honours degree in speech and language pathology from the University of Cape Town, Medical School where she majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Considerable practical experience was gained when she worked as a speech and language pathologist for the National Health Service in London. Moving from medical to the corporate communication application of speech development, Michelle began training voice, speech and presentation skills in South Africa. This move led into the call centre and customer service sector where, after a period of acting as an operational call centre manager, she began training call centre soft skills in conjunction with vocal clarity and language skills. Michelle's unique training methodologies have won widespread acclaim in South Africa where her courses are fully aligned with and accredited by SAQA and the Services SETA. During the past few years Michelle has been actively providing high-level consulting and training contact centre skills (from Agent to Call Centre Manager level) in many parts of Africa including, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Chad, Malawi and Sierra Leone.
Michelle has extensive knowledge of the new skills development legislation in South Africa. She is actively involved with the Services Sector Educational and Training Authority (SETA) and is a SSETA registered Assessor, Moderator and Verifier. Michelle Clifford and Associates has been awarded accreditation by the Services SETA as a training provider for the SAQA registered contact centre qualifications at NQF levels 2 and 4.
In addition to her focus on skills development and training Michelle has established a solid reputation as an objective business analyst within the operational environment of call centres, contact centres and customer service centres both in the private and public sectors.
